Men’s tennis falls at the hands of Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. — The Lycoming College men’s tennis team was defeated by Wilkes University on Sunday, April 5 in a non-conference match up. The top flight for the Warriors, composed of Alex Beattie and Bobby Brown, was the lone victory in the 8-1 loss.

In the third singles flight, it took two extra sets for Wilkes’ Chris Cozzillio to defeat Christian Roesel in a grinding four set match. The first set went to Cozzillio in an extra frame, after ending in regulation 7-6, then another close 7-5 tiebreaker. Roesel took the second down 6-4 before falling 10-7 in the super tiebreaker.

The men’s tennis squad will be back on the courts on Tuesday, April 7 when it hosts King’s College (Pa.). Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
