Four Hurt in Crash

LEWISBURG – Four people were taken to the hospital after a vehicle they were riding in was hit by an oncoming vehicle shortly before noon Friday. None were wearing seat belts.

State police at Milton said Leonard L. Hritzko, 79, of Williamsport, was driving north on Route 15 in Kelly Township, just past William Penn Drive at 11:45 a.m., when, for an unknown reason, his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe crossed the raised median into the path of a 1999 Ford Windstar, driven by Jason L. Chestnut, 24, of Milton.

Hritzko’s vehicle hit the driver’s side and continued to travel north before hitting an embankment. Chestnut’s vehicle stopped on the median.

Hritzko was wearing his seat belt and had minor injury, police said.

Police said Chestnut and his three passengers – Michelle R. Taylor, 38, of Milton, Anna M. Young, 58, of Milton, and Catherine Wertz, 21, of Milton – all suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

A hospital spokeswoman said Young and Taylor were both treated and released, but did not have records for either Chestnut or Wertz.

Police were assisted by Lewisburg Fire Department and Ambulance, Milton Ambulance and White Deer Ambulance.

Both cars were towed by Buck’s Towing.
