South Williamsport Girls Win District 4 Championship

Williamsport – Kierstin Steer took Alyssa House’s pass, dribbled away the final two seconds and threw the basketball up high. The senior captain then sprinted from under the basket and leapt into sister Jamie Steer’s arms as ecstatic South Williamsport teammates engulfed them both.These are the memories the Steer’s will treasure the rest of their lives-they are the memories all those involved with South basketball will remember all their lives because after 10 years this was the group that put the Mounties back on top in District 4 Class AA.

South held Lewisburg to six points in the game’s final 12 minutes and rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit Saturday to defeat Lewisburg, 51-46 in overtime and capture its first district championship since 1998.
