‘Springle Run’ to Benefit Penn College Physician Assistant Club

Williamsport – Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Physician Assistant Club will greet the new season by sponsoring the aptly named 5K Springle Walk/Run at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The event, a club fundraiser and seasonal follow-up to December’s 5K Jingle Walk/Run, will begin and end at Hagan Way (the campus entrance off Maynard Street). Registration is $20 and will be held on-site from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. that day — the first full day of spring.

Awards will be given to the top two runners and walkers of each gender.

Paula D. Holmes, coordinator of the college’s Physician Assistant program and co-adviser to the student organization, said the event was named by one of the youngest participants in the Dec. 6 walk/run: 6-year-old Rose Wascher, whose mother, Emily E. Wascher, is a physician assistant major.
