Millionaires Tame Wildcats 77-52

Mill Hall, PA-The series between the Williamsport Millionaires and the Central Mountain Wildcats has been one sided with the Millionaires dominating. Wildcats fans were hoping for the huge upset as the Millionaires made the easy 1/2 hour ride to Mill Hall.

Unfortunately, they did not get their wish as the Millionaires routed the Wildcats 77-52 tonight at the Central Mountain High School Gymnasium. The Millionaires are now 18-3, while the Wildcats fall to 9-12.

Dontahe Jordan led the Millionaires with 19 points. Sean Ruane added 16, and Jadiah Lynch added 10 off the bench. Scott Zuback was the only Wildcat in double figures with 21 points.

The Millionaires jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead on baskets by Dontahe Jordan and Sean Ruane. Tony Corl would answer back with a bucket to get the Wildcats on the board. After 2 foul shots by Thomas James gave the Millionaires a 6-2 lead, the Wildcats would answer back with buckets by Harley Sellinger and Scott Zunack to knot the game at 6. That was the closest the Wildcats would get. The Millionaires scored 4 more points, including the go ahead basket by Dontahe Jordan, before Zuback hit a 3 pointer with 2:05 left in the first period. That was also the last points the Wildcats would score for awhile. After the opening period, the Millionaires led 14-9.

The Millionaires would break things open in the second period to put the game away for all intents and purposes. They went on a 17-0 run holding the Wildcats scoreless for 3:16.2. The Millionaires successfully attacked and broke the 2-3 zone defense the Wildcats were playing and forced them to play man to man. The Wildcats did not have the talevt to stay with the Millionaires. At halftime, the Millionaires led 38-22.

It was more of the same in the 3rd period. The Millionaires had a 9-0 run to really seal the deal. The Wildcats did not give up; they just wanted to keep the score within reason. At the turn for home, the Millionaires led 54-35.

In the final period, the Millionaires were held scoreless for a 3:03 stretch, but the Wildcats could not capitalize on it. They only scored 4 points during that stretch. During the final half of the final period, Millionaire coach Allen Taylor called off the dogs, and he and Wildcat coach Scott Baker emptied their benches to give the reserves some experience.

The Millionaire JVs finished their season tonight by beating the Wildcats 73-48. Codie Engel led the Millionaires with 14 points, while Blake Adams and Donte Marks each aadded 10. Cameron Blazina led the Wildcats with 17 points, while Richie Lasalle added 10. The Millionaaire JVs end the season 12-3.

The final game of the regular season for the Millionaires is Saturday, 2/14/09, when the University City Jaguars make the long trip up from West Philadelphia for the girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game will start at 6 pm, while the boys game will start at 7:30. Please check back with for news about the district 2-4 AAAA playoff times and sites.
