Danville, PA-Nobody could fault the Williamsport Millionaires if they would come out flat against the Danville Ironmen. The Millionaires’ game vs Danville last night was the 4th road game in 7 nights for the Millionaires giving them a schedule similar to the old ABA of the late 1960s to the mid 1970s. Plus, the Millionaires had no real preparation time for the Ironmen.

The Millionaires outlasted a pesky Ironmen team 65-54 last night at the Whitey McCloskey Center at Danville High School. The Millionaires are now 13-2, while the Ironmen fall to 10-5.

The Millionaires would come back and eventually regain the lead, but then the Ironmen would go on a 11-0 run that extended into the second period also holding the Millionaires scoreless for 3:12. After the first period, the Ironmen led 18-11 shocking many of the Millionaire faithful that made the short 45 minute ride to Montour County.

The Millionaires would continue their defensive pressure in the third period. They outscored the Ironmen 15-8 in the period, and they forced the Ironmen to come out of the 2-3 zone defense that was giving the Millionaires fits and play man to man defense. At the turn for home, the Millionaires led 44-34.

The Millionaires would break things open in the final period. They steadily increased their lead over the Ironmen after Danville cut the deficit as close as 8 points early in the period.
