ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the second-straight week, Lycoming forward Greg Sye was named the Commonwealth Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Dec. 8.

Sye, a senior from Chantilly, Va., reached career milestones in each game during the week. He scored his 1,000th career point against Elmira with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. He then led the team to a win against Shenandoah with 17 points and five rebounds in just 18 minutes of play. His five rebounds in that game gave him at 500 career rebounds.

In two games, he shot 54.2 percent from the field and was 11-of-12 from the free throw line.

Sye has led the Warriors in each of the team’s last four games and has three double-doubles in seven games this season.

For his efforts, he was also recognized this week by Lycoming’s sports information office as the Warrior co-Athlete of the Week, sharing the honor with Allison Mock of the women’s basketball team.

Sye earned both weekly honors last week as well.

The men’s basketball team will travel to Susquehanna on Sunday, Dec. 14, for a 2 p.m. tip against the Crusaders.
