Lycoming women’s tennis falls at Penn State-Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s tennis team fell 6-3 against Penn State-Altoona on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Altoona, Pa.

PSU-Altoona opened the match by sweeping the doubles round to secure three points.

In the singles round, Lycoming received wins at the no. 2, 3 and 4 positions, led by Rebecca Reynolds (South Williamsport, Pa.) at the second position.

Reynolds defeated Caitlyn Rohe in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

Erica Niemann (Taylor, Mich.) earned a three-set (6-0, 4-6, 10-7) win over Lindsay Kromel at the no. 3 position and Kelly Drinkard (Seaville, N.J.) picked up a three-set (6-4, 5-7, 10-8) victory against Ashley Bosco at no. 4.

With the loss, the Lady Warriors drop to 2-8 overall while Altoona improves to 4-7.

Tuesday’s match was the final dual match of the season for Lycoming. The team will compete in the MAC individual tournament this weekend in Landisville, Pa., at the Hempfield Tennis Center.
