PennDot Holding Meeting on Bridge Crisis

A PennDOT engineer will be available to discuss Pennsylvania’s bridge crisis and how PennDOT is dealing with it, at the Route 15 bridges over Hoagland Run and Route 973 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16 along Route 15, approximately 6 miles north of Williamsport. With 6,000 state bridges classified as structurally deficient, Pennsylvania is facing a bridge crisis, arguably the greatest in the nation. This is an opportunity to learn how PennDOT is tackling the issue with a plan designed to whittle down the number of SD bridges across the commonwealth, and efforts to keep other bridges from becoming structurally-deficient.

Weather-permitting, preventive maintenance activities will be taking place at the site during Thursday’s media availability.

(Editor’s note: The bridge site is approximately 3 miles north of the Hepburnville Interchange, or 6 miles north of Williamsport.)
