Everett Says Lycoming County to Receive $249,983 Recycling Performance Grant

HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) announced today that Lycoming County has been awarded a grant of $249,983 by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) under the Recycling Performance Grant Program.The amount of the grant is based on the total tons recycled by the county for the calendar year 2006 and the municipality’s population.

“Lycoming County is being rewarded for its efforts to help keep our communities clean by reducing the amount of waste in our landfills through recycling,” Everett said. “I applaud the county’s dedication to the protection of our environment.”

The Recycling Performance Grant Program was established under Act 101 of 1988, provides incentive to help Pennsylvania communities increase the amount of materials recovered through recycling and promote economic growth in the Commonwealth through job create and market expansion.
