In this noted battleground state of Pennsylvania, preliminary results from Sportservice’s ballpark election contest reveals Hot Dog edging out to 51-49% lead
Williamsport, Pa. – Delaware North Companies Sportservice, a global sports hospitality leader and concessions provider at this year’s 62nd Annual Little League World Series®, today announced preliminary results in the hotly-contested election between Hot Dog and Hamburger.
With nearly 1,000 ballots cast already by Little (League World Series) fans at the LLWS complex, Hot Dog holds a very slim 51-49% lead vs. Hamburger in its campaign to be the kid’s choice for the best ballpark beef. Hot Dog currently leads the voting 489-470.
Thus far, the election has proven to be a global response to the age old question, with young baseball fans from across the country, as well as Japan, Venezuela, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Guam making their choices heard. Voting is being overseen on site by Sportservice Executive Chef Joe Ditri, and will continue through Saturday with the ultimate winner announced during the Little League World Series Championship Game this Sunday. More than 300,000 fans are expected to attend this year’s tournament.
Meanwhile, hot dog is trouncing hamburger at the concession stands, with Little League World Series fans gobbling up more than 7,000 hot dogs per day as Sportservice posts record-breaking sales figures at the complex. Fans are choosing hot dogs over their rival burgers by a nearly 10-1 margin, according to Ditri.
Among the other hot products at the 62nd Little League World Series are Dipping Dots, driven by several new ice cream kiosks throughout the complex this year. French Fries continues its domination as the ultimate side food with LLWS fans devouring more than 8,250 pounds of spuds in just the first three days of competition.
